How to get more house hunters to contact you about your listings

Clear photos, a real price, full details and a link you share. The things that make a listing easy to contact.

By Meridian Estates. Updated

A listing with clear photos, a real price and an honest description is easier to compare.

These steps improve the information you share, without promising enquiries.

Step 1

Take photos people can trust

  • Take photos in daylight with the curtains open.
  • Hold the phone level, at chest height.
  • Show every room: living room, kitchen, bedrooms, bathroom, and the view or compound.
  • Use at least 5 clear photos. Meridian Estates needs 5 to publish a listing.

Step 2

Show the price and the details

  • Always show the price. Listings without a price are not published.
  • Say if it is furnished or unfurnished.
  • Mention water, backup power, parking and security.
  • Give the area, like Kilimani or Westlands. Keep the exact building private.

Step 3

Use market stats without copying the wrong price

Compare your home with others in the same area and size. Keep furnished and unfurnished homes separate. Use our live asking-price guide as a starting point, then check what your own rent includes.

The stats page also summarises requests made on Meridian Estates. Those budgets describe people who used this site, not every house hunter in Nairobi, and do not guarantee demand for a listing.

Step 4

Share your listing link

Open your account and tap Share beside a live listing. If your phone supports sharing, choose from the apps it offers. Otherwise, use WhatsApp or copy the link and paste it where you want to share.

The link opens the home's photos and asking price. Check the page first, and share only homes that are still available. Not every app accepts shared links or offers a status option.

Step 5

Keep listings fresh

  • Remove a home from the available listings as soon as it is taken.
  • Update the price if it changes.
  • Reply to enquiries the same day.
